Meditation

“What you are seeking is seeking you”

-Rumi

What is Meditation?

Meditation is the practice of turning your attention inward to access that place of happiness and peace within yourself. When you turn within, you are irresistibly drawn to that deep place – your very essence – that is the Source of all, the answer to every question, and the true essence of who you are…..the essence of the Divine Mystery that lives in your heart. Over time, your practice enables you to become established in that place – the state of true happiness and bliss. It allows you to create a life of contentment, worth and meaning beyond your wildest dreams.

Meditation Helps the Mind & Body

Additionally, meditation has been proven by science to boost the immune system, lower blood pressure, calm anxiety, and provide equilibrium in our daily existence.

It is a PRACTICE, meaning that it is never “one and done”, but a journey of Self discovery that we commit to over the expanse of our own lives, forever going deeper and uncovering more and more of our own Truth….Who we Truly are.

A Partner as You Journey Deeper

I have been practicing meditation for over 21 years and have taught meditation practice to others for over 10 years.

I teach meditation to individuals privately and in group classes.  During the present time, all my work is online.   I am devoted to helping you, my student, establish a daily meditation practice and am committed to constantly convey Yoga teachings that support and inspire you on your path of Self-discovery.

“Yesterday I was clever so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise so I am changing myself.”

FAQ

I can’t sit down on the floor like the pictures of others I see meditating. What can I do?

Meditation can be done sitting cross legged, or kneeling (yes…like you see in the magazines), but it can also be done in a chair, or even lying down, if that is necessary. I will work with you to establish a steady posture no matter what position works for you.

Does meditation conflict with my religion?

Meditation is a practice. It does not conflict with any religion, in fact, it may help to support your religious practice.

Can’t I read and study books about meditation and get the same benefit as actually sitting and meditating?

Meditation is experiential. Like all yoga practices, your own experience of it is what proves its worth to you. Your effort will provide the insights and impetus to practice further, and to ultimately find the true, complete happiness that lives in your own heart.
